3 SIMPLE PRODUCTIVITY TIPS TO GET MORE DONE IN LESS TIME

ARE YOU READY TO MAKE 2022 THE YEAR WHERE YOU GET MORE DONE, ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS, AND STILL HAVE TIME FOR YOUR FAMILY? LET ME HELP YOU GET YOUR TIME BACK WITH MY FREE PRODUCTIVITY PLANNER!

I love sharing little bits and pieces of time management + productivity tips and tricks. Some might call them "hacks," but really... they are habits I've developed over the years that have taken me from a full time working mom who desperately wanted to be home with her kids to work at home mom in business, working less hours, feeling less stressed, and being more present with her family.

To put it plainly, I cry A LOT LESS now than I did when I was teaching...

But, I wouldn't be here without little productivity hacks that allowed me to grow a coaching business while I worked full time.

Here are the 3 things I do that have helped me get more done in less time, so I have more time to focus on the things that are important to me!

ONE || Prioritize your tasks

Do you ever look at your to-do list and feel like it's a mile long?

Seriously, it's never ending. And that's actually pretty normal. Most of us are constantly adding things to our to-do list every single day. So, can you really expect to get #allthethings done if you're always adding to it?!

That ever growing to-do list can feel overwhelming, but it doesn't have to!

Instead of working from your to-do list, start your day by picking just THREE things to do today. In the productivity coaching world, we like to call this your "top 3." By choosing just 3 things, we minimize the stress and overwhelm of our to-do list and can actually focus our time better on the tasks at hand.

And if you have MORE time, then you can move on to the next thing on your list!

TWO || Block out your time every day

There was a time when I didn't have a solid start or end time for my day. I'd start my day on my phone, check my email (more on that in a minute), and end my day basically the same way, either on my phone or on my computer.

There was no rhyme or reason to my day... just get up + take care of business.

And it left me exhausted, overwhelmed, and stressed.

So, I started scheduling when I was going to do things. When I would wake up. When I started working. When I would eat lunch. When I would end working. When I would clean. Etc.

All of a sudden, I had MARGIN in my days. Imagine that. I got more done AND actually had time to rest.

Could you imagine a Second Grade teacher who didn’t have a set schedule for how their day would flow? Teachers use time blocking daily in the classrooms to help their day run more smoothly. They know exactly when they’re teaching math + reading, when their students go to their special classes, when they eat lunch, and exactly how much time they need to end their day.

That’s what time blocking can do for you. It can help create consistency in your days. Just like how kids thrive with consistency, our lives + businesses also thrive with consistency. Time blocking allows you to create routines + habits to help your day flow more smoothly, giving you peace of mind at the end of the day that you’ve actually gotten the important things done that you needed to get completed.

THREE || Minimize your distractions

Wanna hear something that will blow your mind? On average, we pick up our phones 96 times per day. That's once every 10 minutes!

So, every 10 minutes, you're most likely getting some notification that's taking you away from what you were focused on and putting it on something that ISN'T your priority.

Wanna get more done this week? Turn your phone on silent, turn off all your notifications (you're going to check Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, etc. anyway), pause your email, do whatever you need to do so your priorities aren't being hijacked from what you ACTUALLY need to be doing!

Time blocking has helped me save SO much time in my schedule and get more crossed off my to-do list. If you want to learn more about time blocking, you can grab my Time Blocking Mini-Course for just $27!
